I haven’t posted for a while, so I thought I’d do an update on where I’m at.  Weeks 5 & 6 were Christmas were somewhat of a bust.  I kept taking my medicine, but since we were visiting a lot and celebrating Christmas and what not, the exercising fell to the wayside.  I picked it back up in week 7, along with starting the Cellular Healing Diet.  Fortunately, despite eating like junk for those two weeks and gaining a little weight from all of it, I did not have too many other issues.

Week 7 –  I resumed exercising on the 9th, but have not been doing nearly as well about doing it daily.  I’ve been getting at least every other day though.  I need to get back on track and do the 14 day bootcamp again, and then I can go to every other day permanently.

I began the Advanced Cellular Healing Diet by Dan Pompa.  The diet is no grains, no sugar (or sweetners other than Xylitol and Stevia), and no chemicals, preservatives, etc.  It has lots of healthy fats, but meats have to be grass fed.   For the most part it hasn’t been too hard, except for the breakfasts that first week.  I couldn’t stock up on everything at once, and figuring out what to do besides eggs was tricky, so I ate a ton of eggs.  I finally picked up some yogurt at the end of the week and it was a huge treat 🙂  This week breakfasts have gone much better.  I have coconut milk now, so I can do breakfast shakes.  So with eggs in various forms, the breakfast shakes, and the yogurt, I’m started to feel more settled into it all.   Overall this week has gone much much better, I am having some issues with getting grass fed beef as the store that carries it has been out most of the week.  They are expecting it in today or tomorrow though, so I’ve got my fingers crossed.  We’re getting a bit sick of chicken, and I haven’t figured out any meatless dishes I can do on this diet, as all of our standards involve potatoes or pasta.

Week 7 at the doctor’s I had another NRT, and started some new supplements.  This time we are focusing on lungs (boy do they ever need it), and the immune system.  Currently we are working on lungs and getting rid of yeasts and fungi (that don’t belong obviously, the good ones we just want to be in appropriate balance).

Week 8 he checked me quick again.  I didn’t know before, but there is an overall wellness number that he assigns.  My first week I was 1 to 2 out of 10, which doesn’t mean I’m about to die or anything, but means I have a lot of work to go.  Week 7 I was at 5, week 8 I was at 7!  Woo Hoo!  The main difference there has got to be the new diet (plus getting rid of the Christmas junk).   I also don’t need to go back for 3 weeks!  Yeah!! That’ll certainly help the budget.

Overall results:  I am feeling full of energy and really great.  I actually started my cycle 2 months in a row!  Facial hair is significantly reduced, which is major as that is the best measure for me of where my hormones are (PCOS causes extra testosterone in a woman’s body).  I’m breathing better, I can take really deep breaths without feeling like my lungs aren’t inflating all of the way or are full of junk (they never fully recovered from pneumonia last January).

Upcoming Goals : Continuing Cellular Healing Diet, Attending a class that Dr. Mellor is offering about the Cellular Healing Diet and Emotional Toxicity tonight (it’s his monthly class), Ttapp xercising daily from today through Feb. 2, and then going to every other day as recommended by the program.  Continuing supplements.  If this cycle is normal, I’ll be checking this month to see if I’m ovulating (wish me luck!) .

Wow, it’s week 4 already.  I can’t believe how much different I feel already.  I have so much more energy and feel sooo much better than ever.

Updates for this week:

Doctor Appt:  Dr. Mellor is very pleased with my progress.  This week he tested me to see about putting me on his female balance supplement, but it is not right for me right now, so we will not be doing that.  We’ll see how it goes when I go off of the stuff I’m on right now (it runs out sometime in the next week or so).  He doesn’t want to put me on too many supplements at once, so we didn’t really do anything new this time.  He said that at this point he almost doesn’t know what to do with me, I’ve made so much improvement, so next time we will do a full NRT (Nutrition Response Test).  In the meantime he tested me for anything mental that might be posing a block.  He found an energy block in the stomach and after some testing said that I have an issue of distrust.  This is disturbing to me, I don’t think I distrust, so now I am wondering if I am having issues with distrust, or could this be some sort of physical / energy remnant from issues from my past?   He did something to unblock it, I hope it worked, it didn’t feel much different other than I felt the need to laugh while he was doing it.

Exercise: I have exercised every day since my video arrived, making today (Tuesday) day 9.  I won’t be able to exercise tomorrow probably, but should be able to on Wed. and Thursday.

Diet: I’m continuing to look up recipes for the advanced Cellular Healing Diet, and looking towards starting that in early January.

Getting better everyday!

This  update is a little late because my computer has been down all week.

Monday – I was back for my weekly appointment with Dr. Mellor.  He feels I am doing very well for the few times I have been there, and I have to agree.  I feel great, much better than I’ve felt in a very long time.  He tested me for the Gf Thyroid, but my body was saying I did not need that, so I will not be adding that in.  I did however speak to him about something to help with the smog in California (when we visit) and he gave me some detox drops for smog and some R pills which are good for restoring lung health.  He also got me started on the wheat germ oil for my c-section scar that he has wanted to put me on since I started.   Came home with 3 new meds… really hoping that I don’t have to keep taking all of these for too long as the refill costs could get astronomical.

My T-Tapp workout video finally arrived on Monday (after 3 weeks of waiting).  Right now I’m in the “Bootcamp” phase where you are supposed to do it daily.  I’m going for the longest bootcamp, the 14 day one, although I will miss a day at Christmas.  Yesterday I finally did my starting measurements for it so that I can track inch loss.  It won’t be a true day 1 because I’d already done the exercises 2 days, but I don’t think that’ll make a huge difference.  I really like this exercise program, it feels like it aligns my back when I do it, and it totally takes away the lower back pain that I’ve been having a lot of lately.

At Dr. Mellor’s I also talked to him about diet, and he has suggested I do the Cellular Healing Diet.  I picked up the book on Monday, I’ve already read it (it’s a quick read), and have decided it will be best to start it after the New Year.   The diet is very low glycemic index, and involves no sugar (or any sweetners with the exceptions of Stevia and Xylitol), and no grains (YIPES!).  So I will need to pick up some non-grain flours and some of the sweetners I’m allowed.  My goal is to make sure I have all of the supplies the first week in January, and to start the diet on the 5th or 6th, definitely no later than the 9th.

I’m very excited because this diet has everything that they say is really good for PCOS.  I’m very hopeful that between the detoxing, herbs, diet, and exercise that over the next year I will get my body much healthier, and hopefully as a consequence lose weight.  My planned schedule for now is as follows:

Dec. 13 – start T-Tapp
Dec. 13 – 28  T-Tapp daily (except the 1 day I will be driving all day and Christmas Day)
Dec. 28 until I reach goal weight (probably 1-2 years) – T-Tapp every other day (they do not recommend doing daily after the initial bootcamp)
Jan. 1-5 Gather Supplies for new diet, make menu plans if not already made (I may post them here, I haven’t decided)
Jan. 6 Begin Advanced Cellular Healing Diet, continue until body has reached balance and make goal weight (1-2 years), then gradually transition to the Intermedial Cellular Healing Diet, and then to the Basic (if the diet works and all is well I hope to stay on basic permanently to avoid regaining weight)

I’m feeling strong and wonderful and looking forward to growing healthier every day.
